Terms
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms cover work done by Muhaddis Rehman (“I”) for you (“the client”) through discreetdevs.com.
Scope
Every job is scoped in writing before it starts: the items to fix or build, the price of each and the delivery date. Only the items on that list are included. Anything else is a new item with its own price. Fix jobs have a minimum of $750.
Diagnosis
The $249 diagnosis is paid up front. If I find nothing worth fixing, you get a full refund. Otherwise it is non-refundable once delivered, and credited against the fixes if you go ahead. If I quote an item and then can’t fix it, you get a full refund for that item.
Deliverables
- Fixes: the change in your repository (a branch or pull request), a short written note on what was wrong and what changed, and a preview link where your setup allows one.
- Booking systems, landing pages and dashboards: the full source in your repository, deployed to your own hosting account.
- Hosting: if you don’t have hosting for a new build, I set up the hosting and domain accounts in your name, with your email and payment card, as part of the job. For fixes, moving to a new host is quoted as an item. Either way you pay the providers directly and own the accounts; I never hold your hosting on my own accounts.
Changes and revisions
Each item includes one round of revisions for anything that doesn’t match what we agreed. New requests during a job are quoted as new items, with their own price and date, before I start on them. Nothing extra is billed without your written agreement.
Communication
Email is the record for scope, prices, dates and approvals. I reply within 24 hours, Monday to Saturday. If I’m waiting on you for an answer or access, the delivery date moves by the same number of days. If I hear nothing for 30 days, I close the job and invoice only the work already completed.
Testing
I test every item in a preview before handoff, on current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile. You then have 7 days to check it. If you don’t report a problem in that time, the item counts as accepted. I’m responsible for what I changed, not for parts of the app I didn’t touch, third-party services, or changes made after handoff.
Payment
Invoices are in USD and paid by a Payoneer link.
- Short jobs (under $2,500 and under 2 weeks): 50% to start, 50% on handoff.
- Longer jobs ($2,500 or more, or 2 weeks or more): paid by milestone. 30% to start, then an amount for each agreed milestone, invoiced when you can see it working on a preview link, with the final payment on handoff. The milestones and amounts are written into the scope before work starts.
Work starts when the first payment is received, and each milestone starts when the previous invoice is paid. Invoices are due within 7 days. If one is overdue, I pause work and the delivery date moves by the length of the delay.
Cancellation
Either of us can cancel a job in writing at any time. If you cancel, you pay for the items or milestones already delivered and I refund any part of what you’ve paid that covers work I haven’t delivered. If I cancel, I refund everything paid for undelivered items and hand over whatever work is finished.
Ownership
You own all code and materials I produce for you once the final payment is made. Until then you can review the work but not use it in production. Open-source libraries keep their own licences.
Confidentiality
I keep your code, data and business details confidential and use them only for your job. I will sign your NDA on request. I use AI coding tools on your code, on an account where model training is switched off. If you’d rather I didn’t, say so before the job starts.
Showing the work
I may add an anonymised entry for your job to the public build log: a description such as “UK retail startup”, the tool it was built with, days promised against days delivered, and rework rounds. Your name, logo, code and screenshots never appear without your written permission. If you’d rather have no entry at all, tell me and there won’t be one.
Non-exclusivity
You’re hiring me for specific items, not exclusively. I work with other clients, including businesses in your sector; the confidentiality terms above still apply.
Liability
My total liability for any job is limited to the fees you paid for that job. I am not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost data. Keep backups; I work on copies and branches, not your only copy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
